Is Imagetotext.io Reliable?
As Seen On
Image-to-text converters claim to extract text from images accurately. But not every tool lives up to the claims that it makes. Keeping this in mind, I’ve decided to put one popular tool named “imagetotext.io” to test in this blog post. I’ll test it with different images to see if it does exactly what it promises.
From accuracy to extraction speed, I’ll pay attention to every possible factor, providing you with a detailed and honest review of this tool. Let’s proceed to give this tool a tough time. Before I go any deeper into the topic, let me give you a quick overview of this tool.

Testing the Performance/Capabilities of imagetotext.io
Before I say anything for sure about Image to Text Converter, first I’d like to put this tool to the test to measure its performance. Bearing this in mind, I’ll conduct 3 tests involving different images to see how it handles them. Let’s get started:
Test#1 – An Image Containing Text of Multiple Languages
For the test, I’ll insert an image containing text in English, Portuguese, and Spanish. Although it may be a little tough for the tool to process and extract such a diverse text, it would be a good measure of its ability to handle multiple languages.
My Input Image:
Tool’s Output:
The tool extracted text accurately. I verified the output carefully to check if it missed any wording. The tool didn’t miss a single word. It took less than a couple of seconds to process and extract the text from the image. So, its claims of handling images in multiple languages are valid.
Image to Text Converter performed well in the first test. Let’s see if it can replicate such results in the following tests.
Test#2 – A Low-Resolution, Blurry Image
In this test, I’ll input the tool with a hard-to-read, blurry image to gauge its performance and accuracy. I think the tool wouldn’t have been tested like this before. I took a text image lying on my PC storage and intentionally added an extra layer of blurriness to the photo. The text in the image talks about saving our home planet Earth from potential space threats.
I want to make sure the tool is tested with something challenging. Let’s see how it responds to this test.
My Input Image:
As you can observe the image is super blurry. It’s hard for a human to understand what type of info/text the image carries. Knowing if the tool can comprehend and extract the text accurately would be interesting. Are you wondering how I can verify the output? Well, I have the original, clear image. So, I can easily verify if the tool extracted the accurate text.
Tool’s Output:
When I examined the output, I found that the extracted text was almost accurate with a couple of words spelled incorrectly. I decided to give it another try and cropped the part that it seemed to be struggling with. The tool extracted the text accurately. So, in the second test, the tool delivered a satisfactory performance.
Test#3 – An Online Image Containing Math Equations
I often hear instances of OCR tools having difficulty processing images containing text with mathematical expressions. So, I decided to test the tool with an image that had text discussing match equations.
My Input Image:
Tool’s Output:
The tool passed my third test as well, as shown in the above screenshot. It accurately extracted all the text together with the math expressions.
Conclusion
Imagetotext.io is a popular OCR tool for converting images into machine-readable text. It employs OCR technology together with artificial intelligence to perform such conversions. I tested this tool with 3 tests involving different images. Surprisingly, the tool performed quite well in all of my tests. So, it’s safe to say that imagetotext.io is a reliable tool that delivers exactly what it claims. It makes sense to endorse imagetotext.io to anyone searching for an accurate and easy-to-use OCR tool online.
Gracie Jones
Up until working with Casey, we had only had poor to mediocre experiences outsourcing work to agencies. Casey & the team at CJ&CO are the exception to the rule.
Communication was beyond great, his understanding of our vision was phenomenal, and instead of needing babysitting like the other agencies we worked with, he was not only completely dependable but also gave us sound suggestions on how to get better results, at the risk of us not needing him for the initial job we requested (absolute gem).
This has truly been the first time we worked with someone outside of our business that quickly grasped our vision, and that I could completely forget about and would still deliver above expectations.
I honestly can’t wait to work in many more projects together!
